On February 13th, 2017 – Tracy C from Hamilton, Ontario was awarded the first ever A Better Life Award for 2016. Along with the beautiful Inukshuk award/plaque, he was also the recipient of a $1000 cheque!

Our representatives from our AM Dofasco team (Jeff and Charlene), ABL senior management team (Dave and Sharon) and Hamilton staffing team (Robin) were also present at Tracy’s award ceremony.

Tracy receives his award, certificate & $1000 cheque!

ABL decided on the beautiful, traditional Canadian symbol of the Inukshuk to represent this award, because the symbol is historically used to signify that a traveller is “on the right path”. We felt it was just so poignant, given that the A Better Life Award was established to acknowledge employees who have maximized their opportunities with ABL to create a better life for themselves or their families.

Congratulations, Tracy – you are the epitome of what this award represents! You can read about Tracy’s journey here.

ABL’s A Better Life award recognizes an individual who has made an active outbound effort to create a better life for themselves and the people in their lives. It is not just a “good job” pat on the back but rather an affirmation of positive action and accountability. While ABL is a part of this, these inspiring stories are truly about people who have influenced their own situation to create A Better Life.

Of over 400 nominations this year for actions both big and small, 15 were presented to the entire ABL team who voted to determine the 3 “finalists”.

We’d like to thank you for taking the time to read these wonderful stories. We will be announcing the Award Winner at the end of January.

Below are the stories of these ABLers, proudly told by the local team…
