Job Responsibilities:
– Maintain books of account (including but not limited to preparing checks, coding and posting invoices, preparing deposits, journal entries, reconciliations, petty cash)
– Tracking commissions from various vendors and allocating them to the correct advisor
– Prepare monthly/quarterly financial statements for advisors
– Liaise with staff and support them in bookkeeping needs related to their program areas
– Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable
– Maintain year-end working papers and spreadsheets, and assist with preparation for any audits or independent reviews
– Complete monthly reconciliation for all accounts (bank and brokerage accounts)
– Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and impacts on the organization’s books of account
– Complete all payroll functions: process monthly payroll, submit remittances, process ROE’s, generate T4’s, etc.
Requirements:
– Post secondary education in a related field
– Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping and payroll experience.
– Full-Cycle payroll knowledge
– QuickBooks online and Ceridian experience is a strong asset
– Accomplished in analytical, quantitative and social skills
– Well-informed in basic accounting principles and solid financial acumen
– Understanding of federal and provincial payroll regulations and requirements
– General proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel preferred
– Ability to work independently in a time sensitive environment
