Our client is an established, privately held manufacturer of custom precast concrete products, proudly serving the construction and infrastructure sector for more than 80 years. Known for quality, reliability, and a collaborative team culture, the organization continues to grow and is seeking a detail-oriented and relationship-driven Project Manager & Estimator to join their team.
This role is ideal for an individual who is passionate about the industry, excels at building lasting partnerships, and is skilled at managing projects from concept through completion. The Project Manager & Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate quotes, coordinating project requirements, and ensuring successful delivery and installation of precast solutions.
Reporting to the Operations Manager this role is responsible to ensure employees and crews in production are working effectively and safely within the Company’s yard operations.

Key attributes for job success:
5+ years of related experience
Minimum 1year of leadership experience
Workplace Health and Safety Legislation; WHMIS; etc.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
Must have solid conflict resolution skills
Must be able to work and think quickly
Must have the ability to work with in-house information management systems
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Leadership
Accountable for the efficient management and operations of the yard.
Demonstrate leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection in the yard
Coach team members and provide regular constructive feedback to assist in their professional growth
Determine success indicators for each project and plan and monitor how the team has met them.
Provide strong leadership to team members and utilize individual/team strengths to meet daily targets.
Ensuring the team is trained as deemed necessary.
Monitor and report staffing needs.
Mentor employees and resolve conflicts to create a cohesive unit
Participate and assist in disciplinary conversations with Employee’s according to policy and procedures.
Operations
Understand the master yard plan and ensure that product and materials are placed as planned.
Set up the schedule, organize work, adjust assigned work based on employees present at work, daily.
Continually monitor and revise the yard plan for maximum safety and efficiency, including the correct placement of tile and sewer piles.
Communicate with dispatch to ensure you understand the day’s load requests.
Ensuring new employees are oriented during first week of employment.
Keep projects on track, and resolve issues.
Conduct department meetings and safety talks for the yard, as required.
Conduct regular yard walk-throughs to assess safety, operational effectiveness and identify issues.
Collaborate with other department leaders and adjust work accordingly
Examine stock levels to ensure ordering is up to date as required
Monitor PPE for correct usage.
Ensure all product coming from the plant is removed in a timely manner and put in its proper home per work instructions.
As product arrives, coordinate with the Purchaser to ensure that they are put away correctly.
Get trucks loaded and ready to be sent out for delivery
Notify the Purchaser, or the appropriate Manager, when inventory levels are low.
Communicate with the Shop Manager to ensure timely repairs and servicing of yard equipment.
