Commercial Associate NEW

The Commercial Associate supports sourcing and commercial operations by coordinating raw material purchasing, supplier management, and logistics activities.
This role works cross-functionally to ensure supply continuity, quality compliance, and accurate commercial execution.
Reporting to the VP Commercial, the position helps drive business growth and operational efficiency.

This is a remote position that requires approximately 25% travel to Calgary, with occasional travel to the U.S.

Immediate Hire

Key Responsibilities
– Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and internal plants through regular communication and site visits.
– Support business development initiatives and help expand commercial activity within assigned markets.
– Coordinate with Billing and Transportation to ensure accurate pricing, invoicing, and inventory valuation.
– Establish and manage sales agreements, supporting negotiations and contract alignment.
– Collaborate with Operations and Quality Assurance to monitor raw material quality and compliance.
– Work with Logistics to manage transportation, port activities, and external cold storage arrangements.
– Resolve customer, supplier, or contractor issues, including claims and grievances.

Qualifications (6)
– Bachelor’s degree in Business or equivalent relevant experience.
– Bilingual proficiency in English and French (required).
– 3-5 years of commercial experience in import/export or sales within the food or meat industry.
– Strong knowledge of import processes, particularly meat or fish products.
– Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
– Strong communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills with the ability to travel as needed.
