Our client is hiring a detail-oriented CNC Plasma Operator for their Bradford West Gwillimbury facility. In this role, you will set up, program and operate Hypertherm plasma cutting tables to produce high-precision steel parts.
You’ll work from blueprints and work orders, perform in-process quality inspections, handle routine machine maintenance, and ensure compliance with all safety and production standards in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Requirements
– High school diploma or equivalent
– Minimum of 2 years operating Messer (or equivalent) CNC plasma / oxyfuel cutting tables
– Forklift and overhead-crane operator certification
– Familiarity with OHSA and R.S.O. 1990, C.O.1 regulations and strong safety record
– Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings and GD&T
– Strong understanding of multi-axis profile cutting
– Proficiency with on-console programming, nesting software and basic machine maintenance
– Able to lift 25 kg regularly and handle repetitive motions
– Flexibility to work afternoon shifts, and occasional weekend shifts
Responsibilities
– Perform CNC machine setup tasks
– Load programs or manually enter simple part profiles
– Adjust cutting parameters (speed, feed rate, kerf offset, torch height) per work order
– Perform first-piece quality inspections and in-process checks using precision tools
– Record dimensions and flag out-of-tolerance parts for correction
– Change consumables (nozzles, shields, electrodes) and perform daily/weekly preventative maintenance
– Use forklift or crane to load/unload plate and finished parts
– Update stock levels in real time and ensure minimum consumable thresholds
– Coordinate with yard crew, welders and other departments to plan workloads
