Accounts Receivable

Our client, a well-established national transportation and logistics company, is looking for a detail-oriented Accounts Receivable person to support their accounting team. This role focuses heavily on collections, customer communication, and resolving payment issues. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing cash flow by ensuring timely collection and resolution of outstanding receivables.

Key Responsibilities:
– Perform collection calls and email follow-ups on overdue customer accounts
– Send backup documentation such as invoices, statements, and proof of delivery as needed
– Identify and resolve billing discrepancies and customer concerns promptly
– Maintain accurate records of communication and payment arrangements
– Collaborate with internal teams (billing, sales, operations) to ensure accurate invoicing and account details
– Prepare and update aging reports and escalate issues as necessary
– Support general accounts receivable tasks including cash applications and reconciliations

Qualifications
– 2-5 years of accounts receivable and collections experience, preferably in the transportation or logistics industry
– Strong communication skills with a customer-service mindset
– Self-starter with excellent organizational and follow-up skills
– Comfortable handling high-volume accounts and working under deadlines
– Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software systems
– TruckMate and Foxit experience an asset
– Experience with documentation common to logistics (e.g., PODs) is an asset
– Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
