The Welder is responsible for performing high quality welds on custom steel components to drawing requirements in a fabrication shop environment. Working as part of a production team, this role follows established welding procedures, safe material-handling practices, and requires strong attention to detail to deliver high-quality weldments on time.

Mon to Thurs 7 am to 4:30 pm
Fridays 7 am to 3 pm!

What do you bring?
Minimum 5 years of welding experience in a custom steel fabrication environment is required.
Valid CWB FCAW/MCAW 4G (All Position) certification is required.
Proficiency in multi-pass welding processes is required.
Strong knowledge of welding machine parameters is required.
GMAW, SMAW, GTAW, and SAW experience is an asset.
Strong ability to read and interpret weld symbols and fabrication drawings (metric and imperial).
Basic math skills sufficient for measuring, layout, and confirming dimensions.
Experience operating overhead cranes and using basic rigging, or willingness to be trained.
Responsibilities
Perform manual and semi-automated MCAW, FCAW, GMAW, SAW, and SMAW welding, as well as grinding, on custom steel parts and assemblies in accordance with detailed drawings and work instructions to meet dimensional and quality requirements.
Read and interpret fabrication drawings (metric and imperial) and weld symbols.
Safely operate overhead cranes and basic rigging to move, position, and stage materials and fabricated weldments in the shop.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment and follow OHSA and company safety procedures, including proper use of PPE.
Accurately clock in and out of work orders to track time and productivity in accordance with shop procedures.
Work collaboratively with the production team, reporting to the Welding Supervisor, and communicate issues early to support quality and on-time delivery.
