CNC Plasma Operator NEW

Join a custom fabricator in their Bradford West Gwillimbury, Ontario facility. In this role, you will set up, program and operate Hypertherm plasma cutting tables to produce high-precision steel parts. You’ll work from blueprints and work orders, perform in-process quality inspections, handle routine machine maintenance, and ensure compliance with all safety and production standards in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

$28 to $33/hour
Mon to Thurs 7 am to 4:30 pm
Fridays 7 am to 3 pm!

What you bring:
o High school diploma or equivalent
o Minimum of 2 years operating Messer (or equivalent) CNC plasma / oxyfuel cutting tables
o Forklift and overhead-crane operator certification
o Familiarity with OHSA and R.S.O. 1990, C.O.1 regulations and strong safety record

Technical Skills
o Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD drawings and GD&T
o Strong understanding of multi-axis profile cutting
o Proficiency with on-console programming, nesting software and basic machine maintenance
o Comprehensive math aptitude and mechanical troubleshooting skills

Physical & Communication
o Able to lift 25 kg regularly and handle repetitive motions
o Excellent verbal and written English skills
o Flexibility to work afternoon, and occasional weekend shifts

Overview of Responsibilities:
Machine Setup & Operation including adjusting cutting parameters per work order
Quality Assurance – first-piece inspections & in-process checks using precision tools
Maintenance & Housekeeping – perform daily/weekly preventative maintenance; keep work area clean
Material Handling & Inventory – use of forklift or crane
Collaboration & Communication – coordinate with yard crew, welders & other departments to plan workloads
Safety Compliance – follow all safety policies & report malfunctioning equipment
