Tool & Die Maker Assistant NEW

Are you a tool and die OR mold maker apprentice or have recently completed your apprenticeship? Do you want to work for a local Canadian manufacturer? We have the job for you! We are looking for a Tool & Die Maker Assistant to support the maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of injection molds in a manufacturing environment.

Pay rate:
– $30/hour
– Weekly pay every Friday

Shift:
– Monday to Friday 7am – 3:30pm

Responsibilities:
– Perform preventative maintenance on injection molds (disassembly/ reassembly, cleaning, inspection for damage, etc.)
– Troubleshoot and repair molds while in production
– Operating and setting up the following machines: Mill, Lathe, Grinders, Radial arm drill, CNC sinker EDM, and CNC vertical milling centers
– Use CAD/CAM software (Mastercam) to analyze, design, program, and run CNC equipment
– Perform detailed handwork such as Dremel grinding, polishing, blending, and texture repair
– Safely operate forklifts and overhead cranes

Requirements:
– Enrollment in or completion of a Tool & Die Maker (430A) or Mold Maker (431A) apprenticeship program
– Ability to read basic technical drawings
– Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
– Basic knowledge of CNC machining and mold components
– Previous experience in a toolroom or manufacturing environment is an asset
