Packager / General Laborer

Our client has been manufacturing quality pet products for consumers and pets for 45 years. As one of the first producers of clumping cat litter and small animal bedding in the market, this New Hamburg client has maintained their leadership position in the pet industry for very long period of time.

Duties
1. Fast pack line – hang bags, break bags, perform necessary quality checks
2. Tote line – hang totes, unhook totes and tie off, lift skids onto line, perform necessary quality checks
3. Small pack line – jugs: load boxes in case erector, feed empty jugs onto conveyor, cap jugs, place full capped jugs in cases, perform necessary quality assurance checks
4. Small pack line – boxes: put liners in boxes, close boxes, perform necessary quality assurance checks
5. Small pack line – pails: put pails on line, hammer lids on pails, perform necessary quality assurance checks
6. Perform other work duties as required
7. Health and Safety – follow all required health and safety procedures, rules and practices. Advise supervision of any health and safety concerns and report any hazards and/or incidents immediately.
8. Housekeeping – practise good housekeeping at all times. Perform housekeeping duties as required during downtimes or as requested by supervision including sweeping, tidying, repalletizing, storing, etc

Other duties as required and other locations as required.

The position takes place in a production facility environment. It is fast paced, repetitive work with frequent bending; twisting, pinching and grasping

Qualifications
Previous experience working in a manufacturing facility of at least 1 yr required
Previous packaging experience a plus
Mechanical background through education and/or job experience a plus
Repetitive lifting up to 55 lbs.
